Xóchitl Ashe is a fifth-generation Peruvian medicine woman and visionary mentor for world awakeners. She became initiated into the healing traditions at 16 and for the past 27 years, she has apprenticed under her Godfather, a Mazatec Medicine Man of the ancient tradition of healing with the “Nti-si tho”, “Santitos” or Psilocybin mushrooms. She blends ancestral wisdom and sacred earth medicine together in her Magical Medicine Retreats in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico as well as her 1:1 and group mentorship for those who have patterns that keep repeating themselves over and over, no matter how much healing work they do.
Xochitl wanted her brand to reflect BOTH the Ancient, Sacred, Magical, Ancestral and Wise parts of her business, as well as the Fun, Joyful, Playful, Empowering and Colorful side. She felt like these two energies or styles were very different from each other and was confused about how to bring the two together into one cohesive brand! It’s not uncommon for my clients to desire a blend of a few different styles and yes, it can be done! It’s all about blending the visual branding elements that we have in our toolkit to bring together the different aspects we’re trying to express. Our graphic elements are reminiscent of the kind of art made in Latin America and Mexico that give a more indigenous look which was important to Xochit. The logo icon depicts a Macaw, an important indigenous animal in her culture around a sun, designed with traditional shapes. The dots in the X in Xochitl reflects the cardinal directions. Our colours blend the feeling of sacred, earthy colours with brights. We have a blend of energy coming through in the photoshoot – some shots are fun like throwing flower petals in the air, others are deep and connected to spirit. The typography brings a premium feel to reflect the calibre of their work. One of Xochitl’s goals was for her branding to “give clarity to the audience on the delicious journey they get to take with us.” which I love and the new branding completely captured this!
